The new edition, in addition to chapters on the unconscious patient, disturbances of speech, examination of the autonomic system and the use and abuse of electroencephalography, includes a completely new section on laboratory and radiological investigations and a chapter on the philosophy of the Newer investigations.

Bickerstaff (Third Edition, published around 1973) is a concise guide about the techniques and purpose of the neurological examination. It is more like a practical manual for performing tests correctly and interpreting the meaning of abnormal findings. Overall pretty good condition; the dust jacket shows typical shelf wear around the edges and spine. There are some handwritten notes/previous owner's inscriptions on the front free endpaper.
