Synopsis

Sibusiso P.S. Mhlongo, is a South Africa-based Counselling Psychologist in private practice. As the son of a retired pastor from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (ELCSA), by the time he was 16 years old, he had stayed in four places. Lutheran pastors only get stationed in one place for a few years. He thus writes from a rich personal experience on the effects of relocation on children. In this book Mhlongo has used psychological theory to assist parents to effectively prepare their children for relocation. One prediction employees of the 21st century cannot make, is that they will work for one company in one place until they retire. As they change work and location, they should take time to make their children appreciate that even though change is inevitable, it can be managed effectively. In the process of doing this they would also be helping the children to develop skills of effectively dealing with other changes they will inevitably face in their adult lives.
