The second book of this series follows Chance as he takes on potty training with the encouragement of his two moms. Additionally, this book highlights the importance of values shared by every family when facing a difficult obstacle like potty training. (Chance's story began in the first book of the series, "Chance's First Day of Preschool"). Chance is about to become a big boy, and he’s sharing all of his adventures with you! In the second book of this series, we follow Chance as he decides to take on potty training before his third birthday. While at school with his friends, Jasmine and Lance, Chance becomes inspired to give up his diapers for soft, comfy underwear. That night, he surprises Mom and Mommy by putting his potty training plan into action. After a few weeks of practice and a lot of encouragement, Chance discovers that potty training can be fun and rewarding.

About the Author

Amanda Riccetti is currently the director and owner of Big City Montessori School (BCMS) in San Francisco, CA. She is also the proud mother of two children, Robert and Jenni, and a wife to her husband, Frank. Before taking over as director and owner, Amanda began her work at BCMS in 1980 as a teacher, working hands-on with countless generations of children in the preschool program. During Amanda’s years with the school, she has been confronted by many parents who seek guidance and support while raising their children. Amanda was inspired to write a series of children’s books to provide a charter for parents and a model for their children reading the books. Amanda’s goal for this book series is twofold: To give parents a tool to teach their children valuable lessons, and to provide them with quick, digestible tips to guide their children through their preschool years. In this series, Amanda purposely uses larger vocabulary, which is intended to encourage the parents and children to slow down, explain and develop a broader vocabulary, and model positive behavior. Please read this book one page at a time, stopping in between to discuss the page and allow your child to understand the lesson and connect with Max, our main character. This is a great chance to enjoy the beautiful illustrations and locate the book’s hidden animal following Max throughout his preschool journey. In this book, you will find two birds following along with Max during his first preschool adventure. This book series has also been illustrated using a more realistic style, rather than a younger, cartoon approach. Amanda strongly feels it is more respectful to the children readers and gives the story and characters a more pragmatic quality.
