Clarence R. Thompson is a poet, photographer and retired health care professional. His 33-year medical career included 10 years of military service and 23 in civilian practice. A married father of three, Thompson devoted much of his early adulthood to rearing children and delivering care to others. During visits to natural wonders in the USA and after witnessing the receding Columbia Ice Fields in Vancouver, Canada, he developed a profound concern for the pressure that human density and enterprises are having on the environment. It caused him to take a critical look at his generation’s failure to address this problem and other important matters. Through writing, Thompson hopes to bring greater attention to these important issues and emphasize the need for action.
