Synopsis
Written and illustrated by 11 year old Will Mathison, The Last of Kal is the first book in a series about adventures in the land of Liolia.Speilton is all alone after his village is destroyed. Left with nothing but a small blue egg and instructions to go North into unknown lands, he begins a journey that changes his life forever. Along the way he meets challenges, finds new friends, and realizes he had more strength and courage than he could have ever imagined. All proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Relay for Life.Look for Book Two, The Inferno of Erif coming in Fall 2011.

About the Author
Will Mathison is a 5th grader who loves to share his stories and draw. In 2nd grade, he drew a map of a fantasy world and a story soon evolved. In the 4th grade Will was motivated to begin developing the story and put it on paper to benefit Relay for Life and his friend's little brother in his battle against Leukemia. Will has been very fortunate to have wonderful teachers who encourage his abilities and his love for writing. His little brothers, Charlie and Jack, and their dog, Lolly, have offered inspiration for several of the characters. Will loves playing sports, and he especially loves watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Always ready for an adventure, Will draws inspiration from his experiences on family road-trips across the USA. Will plans to continue to share the adventure in a series of books, The Battles of Liolia.
