Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This is the first Hamlyn edition of Tucker Abbott's seminal work of seashells, and over fifty years later it is still in very good condition. A protective film has kept the dust jacket in great shape with only a little bit of wear at the top and bottom of the spine. Inside there is a faint mark on the front free endpaper where a small sticker has been removed, apart from that all the pages are clean and unmarked throughout. This showcases the very many colour and black and white photographs, some of which are quite superb. Tucker is a great writer and this is a very enjoyable to read, with chapters ranging from molluscs in their natural habitat to shells in medieval art. Seller Inventory # ABE-1754151502583
