August E. Mansker was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1938. He opened his first fitness center in Independence, Missouri at the age of eighteen. At one time he owned and operated fitness centers-coast to coast, border to border. His passion has been trying to understand human behavior and what makes people tick.
