Trade Paperback. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Maurice Sendak (illustrator). Reprint. Alligators All Around (An Alphabet) by Maurice Sendak (2000 PB) Alphabet book featuring the Alligator family and friends. More silliness from Maurice Sendak. Pages not numbered. Maurice Bernard Sendak (1928-2012) was an American author and illustrator of children's books. Born to Polish-Jewish parents, his childhood was impacted by the deaths of many of his family members during the Holocaust. Sendak illustrated many works by other authors, such as the Little Bear books by Else Holmelund Minarik. He achieved acclaim with "Where the Wild Things Are" (1963). Per Margalit Fox, Sendak, "(was) the most important children's book artist of the 20th century", "wrenched the picture book out of the safe, sanitized world of the nursery and plunged it into the dark, terrifying and hauntingly beautiful recesses of the human psyche." Small paperback for little hands. Cover and text still connected with no reading creases. There are impact creases across the spine and upper page-edge across from spine looks chewed. Interior is tight, clean and unmarked (but chewed as above.) Copyright 1962. 1st Scholastic Edition printing in January 1992 by arrangement with HarperCollins. Printed in U.S.A. This copy from 21st printing in 2000. Scholastic categorizes this title as RL2 003-007. ISBN: 0-590-45451-X. No LCCN nor MSR. Thanks for looking! No Ownership Markings. Seller Inventory # 008558
