About the Author

Ilse Plume is the internationally renowned children's book author and illustrator of The Bremen Town Musicians, The Year Comes Round: Haiku through the Seasons, St. Francis and the Wolf, and more. The Bremen Town Musicians received the Caldecott Honor. Ilse has an MFA from Drake University and she studied printmaking at the Santa Reparata Studio in Florence, Italy. She teaches at the School for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and is working on her next book project. Ilse was inspired to start illustrating children's books by her daughter.
