Origin of the story
When Kristen, age 5, took all the girls at the nursery school into the block room for a "birth class", I figured that her mom was probably going to have a baby. So I made up a "new baby" story where she was in charge. She liked it so much she made it into her own little book, complete with pictures she had drawn. Here is my own picture book version -just 18 years after the one she did. In case you are wondering, she says hers is better; and it also got done much faster.
