General Geography in Diagrams comprises the full text of the metric edition of the author's Physical Geography in Diagrams with a complete section on human geography.
The first part of the book discusses the processes involved in the formation of man's physical environment, and it describes all the important features produced by these processes. Diagrams, maps and photographs, are extensively used to help explain the nature of these processes, and the characteristics of the features produced by them.
The second part of the book dicusses the ways in which man uses his biophysical environment and this part deals with the salient aspects of man's agricultural and industrial activities, his communications and trade, and his settlement patterns. As in the first part, extensive use is made of a variety of illustrations, especially maps, graphs and photographs. The book is concluded by a discussion of the conflicts arising out of man's interaction with his biophysical environment, and it suggests ways by which conflicts with the enviroment can be considerably reduced.
The book contains a large number of questions - multiple-choice and essay-type, and these are given at the end of each chapter. Additional questions on the whole book are given at the back of the book.
