Synopsis
Part of the "Pelican Big Books" series, this playscript has a teaching focus on heroic deeds and fantastic creatures and on playscript features, structure and dialogue. The series has been specifically written for the shared reading part of the literacy hour and supports the genre requirements of the National Literacy Strategy. Teacher's notes are included at the back of each Big Book, providing ideas for Text, Sentence and Word level activities. Smaller versions of the Big Books allow for follow-up work in groups and teacher's notes provide ideas for group work.
