Synopsis

This book has been written to cover level II part of the BTEC bank for Electrical Principles. Throughout preferred values of resistors and capacitors have been employed and most calculations have been rounded off to two places of decimals. This has been done to give the reader a feel of the component values commonly met with in electrical circuitry and to emphasize that very exact calculations are somewhat meaningless when the component values used are subject to tolerances of up to 10% for resistors and even more for capacitors. The book has been written on the assumption that the reader will have studied or will be concurrently studying mathematics to the BTEC level II standard. A large number of worked examples are provided throughout the book and exercises on the content of each chapter are to be found at the back of the book. Concise solutions to each exercise are also given.
