About the Author

Brian is a well-known writer of many series of best-selling ELT text books, mainly co-written with Ingrid Freebairn. He is most famous for titles such as Strategies, Discoveries, Flying Start, Blueprint, American Blueprint, and most recently, the original Snapshot.

In the course of his long career, Brian has been active in the Society of Authors and professional ELT organisations. He has taught and lectured widely in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, Australia and Latin America. He now lives in London where he concentrates on producing materials for ELT.

Ingrid Freebairn has worked in ELT since 1978 as a teacher, teacher trainer and writer. She is co-author with Brian Abbs of the following Longman course books: Strategies, Discoveries, Blueprint and Snapshot.  She also co-authored with Hilary Rees-Parnall the Grammar ROM and the FCE Grammar ROM, also published by Longman.  In the course of her work, Ingrid has travelled widely in Europe and Latin America.

Synopsis

"Blueprint Two" is a course for young adult and adult students of English. It is suitable for complete beginners and for those who already have some knowledge of the language, and provides between 90 and 120 hours of work. It is designed to help students to become confident in speaking and understanding simple English. It gives them a formalized knowledge of how English works to support their communicative practice and at the same time aims to develop good learning habits and techniques which students need both in class and when studying on their own. "Blueprint Two" consists of a students' book, teacher's book, workbook, student cassette and set of two class cassettes. It builds on the foundation of skills and confidence established in "Blueprint One", with an increased emphasis on the development of reading and writing techniques. This workbook comprises 40 units of practice material, including speechwork and listening activities also included on the student cassette.
