9780571327959: Selected Poems 1968–2014

Synopsis

A thrilling new selection of Paul Muldoon's poetry, drawn from over four decades and twelve individual collections.

A poet who 'began as a prodigy and has gone on to become a virtuoso' (Michael Hofmann) and hailed by Seamus Heaney as 'one of the era's true originals', Paul Muldoon seems almost to defy definition in his work; nevertheless, this selection, chosen by the poet himself, will serve new readers as an indispensable introduction to his trademark combination of intellectual high jinx and emotional honesty. And for those readers already familiar with his work, the volume provides a panoramic glance across the meteoric career of a poet who performs 'high above the regular traffic of poetry' (Sunday Times).
