Bert Keizer was born in 1947 in Amersfoot, Holland. After working as a research assistant in a glass laboratory, he went to England where he took a degree in philosophy at Nottingham University. He then studied medicine in Holland and practised in Kenya. He now works in a nursing home in Amsterdam.
