Synopsis
The story of Rita Nightingale, restless for adventure, who left the simple home comforts of Lancashire behind for a glitzy job in a Hong Kong nightclub where she met and fell in love with a wealthy Chinese boyfriend. Wooing her simply to use her in his drug trafficking business, Rita suspected nothing when among the gifts he showered on her was a set of luggage. Arrested at Bangkok Airport and jailed for 25 years for heroin smuggling, Rita felt her life had come to an end until two elderly women missionaries began visiting her. Through their gentle friendship, Rita unexpectedly found a deep inner peace and a new purpose for living which carried her through the ordeal until she recieved a Royal pardon.
