Synopsis
This Second Edition applies the basic principles of machine design to analysis and design of machine elements. The topics selected include failure analysis, bearings, lubrication, shafts, clutches and brakes, dynamic loads, and dynamic balancing. The accent is on a non-calculus analysis of machine elements design, so that empahsis is placed on understanding practical apllications as well as how mechanical systems operate.
