Synopsis
Expert Systems is divided into two parts: the first part deals with the basic issues underlying the representation of knowledge, logical inference, and the management of uncertainty. In particular, chapters on reasoning under uncertainty present a wealth of information on the basic approaches which are in use today. These chapters give an insight into the techniques employing classical probability theory, fuzzy logic and the Dempster-Shafer theory.
