Synopsis
This text presents a hands-on problem-solving approach to the analysis of real data sets and procedures for data collection and design. Concrete examples of specific techniques and computer use provide a practical framework for business statistics in practice. Significant changes in this edition include: the addition of chapter objectives, key terms and interim summaries; two new chapters on the design of experiments and analysis of variance; the reordering of topics to increase the book's flexibility for a variety of course needs; real data based exercises; and a new electronic instructor/author on-line help interface for users of the text. This requires access to the Bitnet or Internet e-mail systems. New software supplements provide step-by-step instructions for students using the popular software packages MINITAB, Execustat and Excel.
