Synopsis
This text aims to provide students with a working knowledge of differential equations. The authors emphasize solution techniques and applications and include the techniques from algebra and calculus that are needed to solve particular equations. The theoretical content is kept to a minimum and the integration techniques required to solve the exercises are kept relatively simple. Two alternative methods for solving systems of equations are given, one requiring linear algebra, the other not. This text also includes two alternative approaches to the method of undetermined coefficients. This second edition includes new material on the linear algebra approach to solving systems of equations and new summary tables. This book should be of interest to mathematics, engineering and science students taking introductory degree courses in differential equations.
