W.T. Tutte studied at the University of Cambridge where he received a B.A. degree and a Ph.D. in 1938 and 1948 respectively. He was a fellow of Trinity College from 1942 to 1949 and taught at the University of Toronto from 1948 to 1962. He is now Professor Emeritus at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada.
