Human-induced environmental disturbance – through fishery activities, coastal development, tourism and pollution – is a major challenge to the restoration and conservation of marine biodiversity. Joachim Claudet is a researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Perpignan, France. An ecologist, he specializes in MPAs, environmental impact assessment studies and coastal management. He also teaches international workshops on MPAs.
