Review

"This is an excellent and comprehensive textbook edited by three experienced nurses who are well known in the field of Accident and Emergency nursing. The editors clearly explain in the preface that the text 'provides background information and quick reference information to assist the practitioner in practice'. I would suggest that student nurses on placement in Accident and Emergency departments as part of their pre-registration training might find the text a valuable source of information both prior to, and during, their placement as well. It has to be said that, as a source of information for practitioners in emergency care, the editors have produced an excellent resource. I like this book and wish it had been available to me when I was doing my training and preparing for my placement in the A&E department. This book is an essential resource for all nurses, both students and qualified practitioners, who work in, or have contact with, this speciality. The book will also be a welcome addition to the library shelves." - Michael Adkins University College Worchester Nursing Midwifery
