Formerly a curator at the Museum of Islamic Art in Berlin, Dr Friedrich Spuhler is the author of numerous books on Islamic textiles and carpets, including Carpets from Islamic Lands and Pre-Islamic Carpets and Textiles from Eastern Lands.
