She received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago, with areas of specialization in colonial and early national US history, social and cultural history, and the history of the European Union. She has 25 years' experience teaching world civilization and the US survey at Loyola, Judson College, and Kennesaw State University. She acts as MERLOT Assistant Web Editor for History (a reviewer of web-based learning objects and websites devoted to history). She has given presentations and has written an article on the use of technology in teaching history.
