Die Gefahr, im Banne der alten naturwissenschaftlichen Logik zu ver bleiben, ist für die Wissenschaft aller Sondergebiete besonders dadurch gegeben, daß auch der alltägliche, ebenso wie der wissenschaftliche Sprach gebrauch auf naturwissenschaftliches Denken, aus dem er vielfach entstanden ist, hinweist. So denken offenbar viele volkswirtschaftliche Schriftsteller bei ihren Begriffen von der natur und dem wesen der volkswirtschaftlichen Erscheinungen an die Aufgabe, allgemein umfassende Begriffe geben zu sollen, wahrend sie doch nur nach allgemein geltenden Begriffen zu streben hatten; darum die hohe Meinung von der wissenschaftlichen Be deutung, die einer regelmäßigkeit oder dem gesetz der großen Zahl innewohnen soll.
