Von den in dieser Sammlung enthaltenen Abhandlungen sind IV, V, VI, VII in den Rheinischen Jahrbüchern (lvii, LVIII 1876) bereits gedruckt, aber vom Verfasser aufs neue durchgesehen und berichtigt. Für die iibrigen wurde Bergks eigenhändiges Manuscript benutzt Leider hatte er nicht die letzte Band an legen können. Dies gilt namentlich von den Bemerkungen über die Statthalter am Niederrhein, die schon 1876 niedergeschrieben wurden. So war der Unterzeichnete in der Lage, einzelnes be richtigen anderes ergänzen zu müssen. Hier und da schien ein Hinweis auf Arbeiten aus den letzten Jahren geboten.
