L' omaggio che rendo al venerato Maestro mi è ben caro risponda, oltre che a codesto obbligo mio presente di gratitudine, quello che ora pur mi si impone: di ricordare con grato e reverente animo chi a questa cattedra colla sapiente isti tuzione mi guidò e condusse. Ché la tradizione della celebrata scuola di Lui appunto si continuò in Giuseppe Brini, guida a' miei studi illustre ed assiduamente, fraternamente amorosa; fin dai giorni, lontani ormai di un decennio, in cui, nel 1' Università della mia Parma, m'indrizzò sapien temente, assistendomi di poi con la cura la più illuminata, per la via che qui mi condusse. Tal chè questa cattedra è nell' animo mio, e sempre sarà, il titolo maggiore e supremo lui della mia gratitudine imperitura, della mia devozione reve rente di discepolo.
