Synopsis
Most of the developing countries are located near the tropics which determine the success or failure of sustainable development strategies in these regions. This environmental study focuses on the developing world, integrating physical/biological discussion with social/development analysis. It discusses project evaluation techniques practiced by the UNDP and the World Bank, two agencies that sponsor a number of development projects. It aims to introduce economic and political issues to students with an environmental science background and links environmental and development considerations in the context of the Third World.
