Synopsis
This is a first course in statistics with an emphasis on statistical inference. Concepts are introduced and reinforced with examples and exercises from a wide range of fields from sports to medicine. The treatment of P values is expanded and answers to hypothesis testing are given both in P value, and in a more traditional approach. Optional sections on sampling, box-and-whisker plots, counting techniques and designs of experiments are included.
