Synopsis
This text deals with analysis and design of pile foundations. The subject matter has been arranged sequentially so that the reader is introduced to the behaviour of piles under different types of loads first. Then the pile materials, and pile driving equipment are introduced. The relevant soil properties used in design are discussed and the main chapters study analysis and design of piles under different loading conditions and environments. Step by step design procedures are listed for each case, followed by a detailed design example. A feature of the book is complete discussion on design soil parameter, lateral loads, dynamic loads, pile in permafrost and buckling of piles.
