In addition, the chapters on laser noise and third-order nonlinear effects have been extensively revised.

Amnon Yariv, Israeli electrical engineering educator, research scientist. Recipient Pender award University Pennsylvania, Harvey prize Technion, Israel, 1992, National Medal Science The White House, 2010. Yariv, Amnon was born on April 13, 1930 in Tel Aviv, Israel. Arrived in the United States, 1951, naturalized, 1964.
