Herman Tavani is Co–Executive Director of the International Society for Ethics and Information Technology (INSEIT) and Secretary/Treasurer of the ACM Special Interest Group on Computers and Society (SIGCAS). Before becoming a full–time professor at Rivier College in New Hampshire, Tavani worked in the computer industry as a software technical writer and writing supervisor.
