Synopsis
This solution manual accompanies the main text. The text is designed to help college algebra students with little confidence in their mathematical abilities and or limited preparation in mathematics. The objective is to give students sufficient math confidence and skills so that they can proceed to more advanced mathematics courses, such as precalculus or statistics, or in quantitatively based courses in other disciplines. Additionally, students should become intelligent consumers of quantitative information they will confront in their everyday lives. "Something to Think About" are short inserts scattered throughout the text. Instructors may wish to use the thought-provoking questions that are provided to generate class discussion. A student solutions manual contains answers to alternate problems.
