About the Author

MELANIE HOAG is a senior technical instructor, writer, and consultant who has worked on many networking projects for different clients over the past seven years. She holds multiple Linux, Novell, and Microsoft technical certifications, including LCI, LCP, MCNI, MCNE, MCT, and MCSE. Melanie also has a PhD and an MS in the areas of human physiology and anatomy and combined research with university teaching until she got "hooked" on computers.
