After seven printings of this widely used introductory text, a new team of authors has completely revised the book for a third edition incorporating the changes in understanding and outlook which have taken place in microbiology over the last ten years. Each chapter has been rewritten within a reorganised framework and a new chapter on industrial microbiology has been included to reflect the impact of biotechnology on this subject
