Virtual Reality Telecommunication Systems (VRTS) transmit human verbal and nonverbal communication messages, enabling the communicators to convey touch as well as sight and sound. This book will provide a broad overview of the current research in the area of creating future VRTS as well as present developments in closely-related areas. In a face-to-face conversation, only 10 % of the message is conveyed by words, the remaining 90 % is carried via vocal pitch, emphasis, facial expressions, body language, and other related factors.
