About the Author
Timothy A. Philpot is an Associate Professor in the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Missouri. His work in engineering educational software has won several prestigious awards, including the 1998 NEEDS Premier Award for MDSolids, the 2004 NEEDS Premier Award for MecMovies, and the 2006 Merlot Classics and Editor's Choice Awards for Exemplary Online Learning Resources for MecMovies.
