Combining the undergraduate numerical techniques involved in the solution of some engineering problems, and the commercially available NAG software library, this book aims to develop the reader's ability to use state-of-the-art numerical software. It achieves this through consideration of realistic engineering case studies, drawn from a wide variety of disciplines. The emphasis is on the appraisal of results through sensitivity analyses, the consideration of "what if?" types of question and the interpretation of results. Provision has been made for both mainframe and micro by using mainly those subroutines available to both systems. Where possible NAG graphical software is used to display the results. Listings of all the programs are provided so that the reader can customize the programs as necessary.
