Synopsis
King Solomon’s Mines: Allan Quatermain tracks a missing adventurer last seen heading into the unexplored interior of remote Africa in a hunt for the fabled mines of King Solomon, the biblical king known for his wisdom. In a swashbuckling, Indiana Jones-style adventure, Allan sets out with the promise of a share in a treasure and departs with a map he’s never really taken seriously. His group style themselves "white men from the stars" – sorcerer-gods – and are brought before the violent ruler King Twala in one of the many adventures along their journey. (Published 1885)

About the Author
Henry Rider Haggard (1856–1925) was an English writer of adventure novels set in exotic locations, predominantly Africa, and a founder of the Lost World literary genre. He was also involved in agricultural reform around the British Empire. His stories, situated at the lighter end of Victorian literature, continue to be popular and influential.
