About the Author

Over the past twenty years, Joan Duncan Oliver has covered transformative events, ideas, and people for such publications as Health, Self, People, New Age: The Journal of Holistic Living, and The New York Times.  Her work draws on twenty-five years of studies in meditation, consciousness, mysticism, psychology, and a variety of spiritual, esoteric, and mind-body teachings.  A former editor in chief of New Age, she is currently editorial director of One Spirit Club and a lecturer at the Omega Institute.
