Synopsis

Few realise he was anything but a pretty princeling full of chivalrous sayings, the empty headed dupe of political intrigues; few remember that after Culloden he lived for another forty-two years, a life of amazing vicissitudes. This biography attempts to illuminate the years the historians have never been interested in; it is a fascinating portrait of a man pushed off the stage of history long before he was ready to go.
