Truth or Dare is a dynamic and at times disturbing novel by Celia Rees--an author who has a particular talent for grasping on to the unknown and developing characters and plots which work together so superbly that the reader finds himself lost in a world that once seemed unbelievable but suddenly becomes all too real.
In Truth or Dare, Josh finds himself lost in the centre of a family crisis when he is whisked away to stay at his dying grandmother's house for the summer. With a combination of haunting and worry driving him to find something to occupy his time and his mind, he begins to delve into his own family history and discovers that the man who, had he lived, would have been his Uncle Patrick, died in mysterious circumstances as a teenager.
