Synopsis

"When You've Made It Your Own" is written in a light, conversational tone in the hope of demystifying poetry for the teacher so that it could be easily and pleasurably incorporated in the language arts curriculum.

Denman, a professional storyteller and language arts consultant, addresses the elementary and middle school teacher, explaining the nature and purpose of poetry, reading and appreciating poetry, and writing poems.
