Synopsis
Centered Riding is not a style of riding as are hunter seat and Western. Rather, it is a way of re-educating a rider's mind and body to achieve greater balance in order to better communicate with the horse. Synopsis
Swift sets out her philosophy on the teaching of riding, stressing body awareness, the importance of 'soft eyes', and correct breathing, centring and balance. Swift rejects forced training techniques that result in stiff bodies and tense riding, using vivid and unusual images and a thorough knowledge of human and equine anatomy.
