Si aprono le porte del Castello. Giunge Oberthal circondato da suoi amici, coi quali egli parla ridendo. Alla sua vista i contadini si fermano, e quelli che gia avevano salita. La scala, la scendono spaventati, nascondendoi bastoni di cui si erano armati. Oberthal si avanza tranquillamente in mezzo ai Contadini che lo salutano.
