Wenn auch Andere, die ganz oder zum Theil auf ihm fussten, wie Welcker, Rotteck, Zachariae, die naturrechtliche Lehre noch weiter verfochten, so erlitt dieselbe doch durch die Angriffe der Restauratoren und die philosophischen Widerlegungen Hegel's, Schelling's und Schleiermacher's schwere Niederlagen, bis sie endlich dem Ansturm der historischen Schule unterlag.
