This book is a study of conveyancing, with particular reference to domestic conveyancing. It attempts an integration of both law and practice, and throughout, the policy is to discuss live issues in current practice, and to play down issues which nowadays seldom arise. There is extensive and up-to-date coverage of problems connected with missives, which is the area of conveyancing which causes most problems in current practice, and which is also the most rapidly changing. The coverage of mortgages passes over many technicalities which are now virtually obsolete in practice, and devotes space to the mortgage market and mortgage packages as they exist in the 1990s. While some of the book may be regarded as elementary by the practitioner, though important for the student, many parts of the book contain material which are not readily available. It should be useful reading even for experienced practitioners. This approach to conveyancing should command attention from a wide audience throughout Scotland and beyond.
