Synopsis
Ranji occupies a special place in the history of world cricket. Not only was he the first Indian to play cricket for England, scoring two 3000 runs in a season, but he became a dominating player for a quarter of a century between 1895 and 1920. This biography explores not only the successful sportsman, but also Ranji's position as Maharajah of Nawanagar and Indian representative of the League of Nations. It describes the complicated family intrigue that surrounded his succession to the throne of Nawanagar, and attempts to throw new light on his complex personality.

Printed on the poor quality paper which seemed to abound at the time of publication, so there is a slight discolouration to the pages edges. This is the case in every copy I've seen - even my own!
